Have you tried using HardDrake? You may be able to configure it further
there so it will then recognize your modem.
However, is it possible this is a configuration problem in the dialer yo'ure
using? When I was dialing in via modem, I used kppp. In kppp there's an
option to test the modem, and it will tell you if it will be able to dial
and send the appropriate commands. Have you attempted something like that?
