[newbie] Banned from my own server

Hi,   I've set up a Linux server with several windoz terminals. I have entered the info for the users of these terminals and I used to be able to log onto the Linux machine as any of these users.   Without any apparent reason one of the users terminal cannot see the server, and, if I log onto the Linux machine as this user I get the message "Could not read net work connection list. Please check that the dcompserver program is running". The screen then resets and returns to the login screen.   I think that the user must have made an illegal move and is now bared. I have tried removing the user and then installing him again.
