It turns out that my image of the 2nd CD has problems. So I was selecting
"games" explicitly, but canceling out when it asked for the 2nd CD
(otherwise it hung during the install). By canceling out, I was ignorantly
canceling the games install. Somehow, when I checked the status with the
software manager, I was mis-reading the display.
However, a simple check for kasteroids and kmahjongg revealed that they
weren't installed. Back to software manager and now I have a line of kids
outside my office waiting to use the Linux computer [get em while they are
young ... before they can be captured by the dark side ]
tx for help
