[newbie] swap space

Hello! I would be grateful if you could help me with the following problem I have with Linux. I am currently using Linux-Mandrake 6.1 but I need to increase the swap space on my machine. How do I go about doing it ?  I did try  to install diskdrake from the website but I wasn't able to do that and I don't know how to access disk druid from the installation CD that I bought. Can you please help me. Thank you. Hayati.
