Hello all,
I've been having problems getting my Diamond Viper
770D 32MB card with the TNT2 chipset to work in LM
8.0 with XFree86 4. I've been scratching my head
over this one for a while. I'm really new to setting
up /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file and I need some help.
I downloaded and installed the Mandrake 8.0 Nvidia
driver for TNT2 cards, and I installed the Mandrake
7.2 glx rpm; next I went into the file and added Load
"glx" underneath Load "dbe" and changed "nv" to
"nvidia". I still can't get any Mesa 3D programs to
work. I've tried the Mesa gears demo, which gave me
the error:
GLUT: Fatal Error in gears: OpenGL GLX extension not
supported by display: :0.0

Then I tried tuxracer which gave me:
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
*** tuxracer error: Couldn't initialize video:
Couldn't find matching GLX visual (Success)

I don't mind not having hardware accelleration, so if
someone could just tell me how to make Mesa work
without accelleration, that would be fine. It would
definitely be cool if I could get accelleration,
though (I'm in a graphics programming class right
now, and I'd love to be able to use Linux as my
programming environment). Please help me. Thanks in
advance.
