Simple way is with a 7.2 install CD.  Drop it in the CD drive and boot, 
select recommended and minimal and let it configure the bootloader for you. 
(and you can choose LILO or Grub) Same with 8.0 install disk, but there I 
would recommend a text install if you don't wan X.

You do not need to make a partition for Mandrake--it can shrink FAT32 
partitions non destructively or you can simply leave part of your hard disk 
unpartitioned and it will use that.
