Hi all,

I have a rather perplexing problem,,

I have a server on a static IP DSL conection, this machine is among other
things a primary domain server...

We have a number of servers running behind this machine, all on private IP's
(ie 192.168.0.5)

I need to have two way comunication between ports on the internal machine,
and the outside gateway....

The internal machines are running all sorts of different operating systems,
from Win2000 server to win95, and linux.

The gateway machine is running 7.2 with EVERY patch loaded, including the
2.2.19-4 kernel.

Anyway I have searched the internet left right and center,, and found
hundreds of pages about port forwarding..... and thats the problem,,,

There are hundreds of methods available and all sorts of different kernels,,
(in fact most of the pages I saw required patches to 2.0 kernels...

So at the end of it all, I am left wandering what is the newest fastest
method of doing this....

Mandrake is no help, and the only reference I could find on thier site, was
about packages. which was less then useless...

Assuming I have Mandrake 7.2, and kernel 2.2.19 What is the easiest way I
can have several ports on internal servers transparently communicating 2way
through the gateway machine.....

like Http, SSL, smtp, ssh, and some ports specifically for special servelets
and stuff...

No machine on the entire network has less then 64 mb of ram, and a 233mmx
cpu.... so horsepower is not really an issue, since most of the machines,
have at least a pIII 450, and most are 600 or more.

The gateway machine has two network cards, one to the dsl connection and the
other to the internal network.

I am more confused now then I was when I started looking into this....

Can anyone help.....

regards

Frank
