Ok, I've gotten mplayer to work on mpegs and avis, and vlc to almost do dvd.
It's hard to find things that will compile/install on Mandrake <insert your
flame here>, cause of dependencies that conflict when you try to satisfy them.
anyway, those were the one's that worked for me. mplayer is great and
actually works. vlc works I think, I rented a dvd and tried to play it and
it wouldn't. But then it wouldn't even play in windows, so they must have
some new encryption or some shit on it. Anyway, back to Blockbuster.
Know of any unencrypted titles one can rent to test out vlc on? I can find
plenty encrypted.
