[newbie] Registered users

If Linux is a free operating system under the GNU/GPL License, etc., etc., why do people insist in showing the rest that they are registered users?   Coming, as I do, from the [often fanatic] Apple Macintosh environment, it scares me to see how the Linux paranoia increases as its amount of users does.   IMHO, of course. -- Pablo Garc�a Dur�n
