[newbie] Sound

I have MD8 on a machine with two sound cards, a SB16 and a Hoontech multi channel card. I wish for it to use the SB16 as I'm sure the hoontech will be unsupported.   They're both showing up in the sound section, but no sound seem to be coming out. How do I ensure it's going through just the SB16 and ignore the hoontech?     Regards, Brett
