What makes you say this?
I know we use Enlightenment about 90% of the time. Our main workstations are Mandrake
8
machines, and we love Enlightenment! We even downloaded a whole boat load of themes.
But
I don't get the impression that Enlightenment is trying to phased out or something.
I don't know many that use it personally. I know my sister uses KDE, but it's simple
and
it's "Windowy." And she's only bee a Linux user for like 8 months now. She says she'd
like to use the stuff that I do, but just hasn't given it a try.
Personally I don't know much about Enlightenment, as a whole. I don't know if a rc
file
can be created, or if you can set up the Function keys to open apps. But it more then
does
what I need it to do. Being able to have 4 desktops, each having 24 virtual desktops
each.
I love Enlightenment. I use other windows managers in other distros though. For
example,
I use Piewm in FreeBSD. Since Enlightenment is launched through GNome in FreeBSD. I
can't
stand GNome!

| Hi,
| Anybody notice a concerted effort to phase out the Enlightenment window
| manager?
| I would probably dump Mandrake before I dropped Enlightenment.
