Depends on what you want. If you want to use Maildir/ instead of the old
unix style mailboxes. Use courier. Also if you need ssl support courier
does that too. You can look into cyrus imapd, courier, WU imapd. Postfix
is just an smtp server. Hope that helps.

I just set up lm 8 for the second time and both times the mail
server was not installed
postfix is there so outgoing mail in no prob but there is no
pop3 server that i am aware of?
when i try to check my email it gives me a error message (socket
error)
how do i set up the mail server or is there one you recomend i
go download and install?
