Hi Jared,
Rather then having vnc start automatically I suggest starting vnc only
when you need it.  That is the best way to handle any service.  Run it
only when needed!  Somewhere in the Mandrake control center, you can
start and stop any available service.  That is probably the easiest
way.  I start vnc simply by typing "vncserver" (without quotes) at the
console or an xterm as whatever user I want it to run for.  (Unless I
want to do remote maintenance, Not root!!)
