Depends
The Promise FastTrak works badly in non-RAID mode in linux.
There is a proprietary driver for RH 7.0 which won't work with
anything else, but will use the RAID mode.
The Promise drop-ins that are off-board controllers don't work
without tweaking our system cause the install kernel sees them
as hdg and hdh and the boot kernel sees them as hda and hdb for
example... But that is also true of drop-in HPT and CMD
controllers. And we are fixing that right now.
