To all concerned; I saw the article about Mandrake, and it was totally wrong.
Mandrake let some of their U.S. staff go because they had expected to grow
much faster than they have been, or something like that. It had nothing to do
with anything else. NADA! I spoke to the Mandrake guys at LinuxExpo Montreal,
and they clarified it. They're all Gung Ho, and Rockin' . No problems. So
Mandrake lovers relax. They're not leaving us. In fact they're growing in
other places around the world. It's just taking a little longer to catch on
in the U.S., so the staff wasn't needed, yet!
But if you're worried, buy a PowerPack, or ProSuite. I don't know where you
get it from, but up here in Canada, it's about $85.00 Canadian for the
Powerpack. Dirt cheap if you ask me! Especially compared to Windows and all
the stuff you'd have to buy afterwards. I think it's about $35 to $45.00 U.S.
