I'm glad to hear there are  people that don't have any problems with this 
card, and I find that encouraging.
Yes, you were right, the graphics card was sharing an interrupt with the 
ethernet card, I moved the ethernet card and I haven't had any problems since 
then.  I had overlooked this possibility since that setup had seemed to be 
working for a long time under another OS. But then again, under that 
particular OS, complete crashes and reboots were a regular event!
[Now I just hope that it's ok for the ethernet card to share an irq with the 
usb controllers and the win-tv GO card!]
