Yes.  I had that a few months ago. Had a look at the processes using gtop 
after deleting the file and discovered a couple of netscape sub-processes
chewing away.  Netscape was not supposed to be running at that
point.  After these processes were killed the problem went away, and never
reappeared.  This was 7.2 - no need to reinstall.  So, have a look for
rogue processes if it does ever recur.

The origin of the errors was a mystery but I had the impression that the
messages were supposed to go to a terminal and the processes could not
find one (?).
