I am certifiably going CRAZY!

Things were slow. Still the 63 mails were not in. I decided to hook up the old
28k8 modem, configure it and pull mail.

I stick the phone cord in the modem and the phone line. AND ISDNSPEED GOES UP
to 8K/Sec and STAYS THERE!

I noticed that. Pulled the plug from the modem. Speed drops. Put the plug
back. Speed is up again.
I tried this several times, and it works, no matter how often I do this.

Could this mean there is something wrong with the phone line setup? Grounding?
ANything??

When in doubt, do it.
It's much easier to apologize than to get permission.
