I'm not ready to ask for a hand holding step through for this yet , but I'm
getting close :) I've got a ati mach64 1 meg card and a Diamond Viper 330
(riva 128) 4 meg card. I checked the xf86 website and
both are supported by xfree86 4.0. I have a 14 inch samtron sc428vs (Generic
vga) connected to the ati and a kds vs-195i on the riva. I want to set up the
samtron as 640 x 480 16 bit and the kds as 1280 x1024 16 bit. These are both
within the capabilities of the cards and monitors. I have got the individual
monitors working but not simultaneously. When I try to setup xfree86 4.0.3 ,
the resolution test screen has a gray cast to it and the interior of windows
on the desktop are blank. Currently accepting any clues of what I could try
next or pointers to more howto's or faqs. Flames will be tolerated if they
also contain some help :)
