I think your use of "peer to peer" has confused a few people.

Peer to peer is inherent in any machine that has the ability to share
files or resources with any other network/internet connected "peer" on a
network (hence the term).

The media has picked up the terminology to describe file sharing
SERVICES such as Napster, even though the two are NOT synonymous.

FTP, WWW, Samba, etc. all can be said to be peer to peer services as
well.
