Here is an excerpt of my /etc/shadow file:
games:*:11513:0:99999:7:::
named:*:11513:0:99999:7:::
sympa:*:11513:0:99999:7:::
gopher:*:11513:0:99999:7:::
ftp:*:11513:0:99999:7:::
nobody:*:11513:0:99999:7:::
xfs:!!:11513:0:99999:7:::

How come xfs has a !!, instead of a *?
