Hello,
Any of you who are familiar with Windows shared folders, printers, etc. have
probably noticed this problem... A good percentage of the time I find that
many shared folders etc. are "missing". So, I might refresh the screen a few
times or even reboot. Sometimes this fixes the problem, sometimes it
doesn't. It seems that the only thing that is constant is the
unpredictability. Would Samba running on a Mandrake server acessed by the
Windows clients be more reliable? If so, does anyone have any quick
instructions on how to set up a few shared directories with no password
protection, publically viewable/editable by anyone on the network?

        Thank you,
        Vincent A. Primavera

P.S. It would be even better if the configuration could be done directly to
the smb.conf file etc. as opposed to any GUI interface...
