1. Yes, I've had Mozilla working on here before. Version 0.8.something. Deleted all of it though, as per mozilla.org instructions. Bastards... On this note, in the future is there a way I can save my mail files when I upgrade Mozilla? I *hate* losing all my email, lots of it is personal and very important to me. 2. SMTP settings are perfect, I'm new to Linux but know my stuff when it comes to basic generic things like email. I can get other error messages if I intentionally mess up the SMTP settings, but I didn't say those because they're irrelevant and I know they are caused by intentionally messing up SMTP. 3. Could you explain the last thing about the local vs. not local server a little more? My email server is in Amherst, Mass. I am in eastern Maine. Is that what you're talking about? I'm also using a dial-up connection if that is at all relevant.
