It wasn't the first one I'd used, but it was the best. I've run innumerable other distributions since then, but none compared to good old RedHat 6.0. Mandrake 7.2, while great, still didn't quite measure up. RedHat 6.0 has been replaced. I've been hammering Mandrake 8.0 for two weeks now and love it. I've had no problems other than the accompanying kernel source not compiling. That's it. Mandrake 8.0 is as close to a flawless Linux distribution as you can get, and I would highly recommend to anyone. Mandrake 8.0, as far as I'm concerned, is now the benchmark against which other distributions will be measured. It really is that good.
