well i think that for authentification
u have to check mail before u try to send
only in that manner it can authentificate
if it is not working try using this SMTP server 61.0.0.33
it dosent ask for authentification

Subject: [newbie] kmail problem

I'm having a problem sending mail with kmail. My smtp server requires
password authentication, and I can't seem to figure out how to get kmail
to send the authentication.

Also, because of a recent change in isp's, the smtp server is with a
different company, and a different user name than the pop server. I'm
able to get netscapes mail client configured for it, but I'd really like
to go back to kmail.

any ideas?
