I tried dragging the mysql.server file into the rc3.d directory and making a link to it but it didn't autostart on the reboot. I also tried rc5.d to no avail. I did notice that when i drug the file and linked like that, the link is missing the S01, S02, etc. tags at the beginning of the actual link like others in those directories. Is this something that Mandrake should add? I'm unclear on that issue as I just got everything all honky-dory on my machine with a brand new apache 1.3.20-php 4.0.6-mysql 3.23.41 install and don't want to have to start over and recompile, etc....blah, blah, blah.
