Hi all,

I recently built a computer with a K6-2 500 Mhz processor, MVP4 chipset,
shared memory graphics, chipset-integrated AGP, LM 8.0, and a weird
persistant but infrequent mouse problem. Basically, the mouse stops pointing
to the correct spot on the screen. What I mean is, when moved to a button,
the mouse pointer hovers over the button, you click the mouse button, but the
effect of the click is about an inch to the left in the x-axis. y-axis is ok.

OK, the integrated AGP is one possible culprit. How do I determine what
level of support Mandrake has for these integrated AGP graphics? What
parameters might I try to change to eliminate the mouse problem? Is driving
voltage tunable somewhere?

I think power supply might be another possible culprit. Installing the K6
eliminated weird x-windows behaviour during boot-up, where the pixels
appeared to scatter a bit, and fonts were fuzzy. I think the 145 W power
supply may have been marginal for the P200 installed then, operating at 3.3
V. The K6 works at 2.2 V, and the problem is gone. The infrequent
mouse-drunkeness persists though. Suggestions?

TIA,

Ben
