Thanks for your trouble! My problem is that I can mount the drive manually, but not automatically. The system does not seem to recognise sda4 unless I run ppa. Also the icon on the desktop does not save the properties that I re-set each time. (Device seems to be set at /mnt/zip which doesn't work - if I set the Device to be /dev/sda4 then the icon works but it won't save the setting!) Regards Gordon
