I don't think that is it, well, didn't, until I tested that theory while I was responding to this post... which crippled my keyboard. Doh.
Any thoughts on how I can un-map shift as a typematic? I do indeed have a strange keyboard though, a "micro inovations" keyboard with a built in touchpad, which I've been using for some time (long enough to wear the nub off the 'j' key.
