It isn't bad, but IMHO not quite ready for production use (it's a beta, after all). Bloat-wise (installation/memory footprint, speed, etc.), it's only a little better than SO 5.2, although I'm sure that shall drastically improve for the final release. Besides the removal of the integrated desktop, there isn't much real aesthetic difference (most changes are under the hood), although the feature set has definitely been improved. I was a little disappointed to see that it hadn't been GTKised as had been previously announced.
