I successfully upgraded from 7.2 to 8.1, so I would think that the smaller change from 8.0 to 8.1 would be even easier. Mandrake has a Software Manager that is similar to Debian's apt-get, but uses RPMs instead. You just point it at a nearby Mandrake mirror, and it will get you all the upgrades you need. > b. I have heard enough stories of bugs in the 8.0 release, that I would not want to try it. In fact, I didn't -- I waited until 8.1 was available for download, and then upgraded straight to that. Aside from having to reinstall Opera (web browser), it went fine.
