ok, i've been toying around for a few days... I got MP3's to play on KDE with XMMS, but only if I tell it to use OSS not aRts. I need aRts working to hear any desktop sound effects and such.
aRts keeps giving me cpu overload messages when I try and run the daemon. This is on a Dell GX110 with an Intel i810 chipset. before i got real choppy sound from both mp3 and KDE sounds, not I get no KDE sounds, broken aRts, but MP3s are cool if I force it to use OSS. any ideas? Thanks, Marc
