Kernel modules to be loaded at boot time belong to
/etc/modules and their settings to /etc/modules.conf
My configuration entries for a scsi adapter

In /etc/modules

scsi_hostadapter

In /etc/modules.conf

probeall scsi_hostadapter aic7xxx
alias scsi_hostadapter aic7xxx
