I'm having that same problem myself with my home computer. I also have a SB Live card, and can play MP3's fine thru XMMS or Noatun, but when I tried to adjust the volume settings for my card through KDE Sound Mixer, there wasn't anything listed there. Even when I went to create a new tab, I couldn't select from anything. It's kinda like KDE didn't know there was a sound card available, but could still play the opening .wav files as well as MP3's .. I haven't actually tried to play a MIDI file though. -- Terry Sheltra PC Technician/Network Administrator University of Virginia School of Architecture [EMAIL PROTECTED] 434 (or 804) 982.3047 ---------------------------- Registered Linux User #218330
