You almost certainly do not have OpenGL working.
Check the log /var/log/XFree86.0.log for error messages.

Check you edited XF86Config correctly   (not XF86Config-4 since you are using 
XFree-3.3.6). Refer to nvidia's  install notes.

Which nvidia driver did you use? The ones at mandrakeuser contain a patch 
that is not present on the one from Nvidia (I don't remember what it does, 
but its useful)  http://www.mandrakeuser.org/download.php
There is also a version there for use with the 'Enterprise' kernel which may 
be useful for you.
