I've seen this one a bunch, not sure it had anything to do with the mouse in my case, but video card related,a Rage 128. But to fix it,I did an update an chose NOT to start x automatically. I didn't hafta change any resolution settings, but it seemed to be the key nonetheless, works great now. It's my sons box,I figure a little dip onto the command line will be good for him.
As far as the mouse is concerned,I've had far better luck getting it installed during the initial,or on an update rather than thru mousedrake. Just my experiences, and I've got SO far to go :-) Lee On Tuesday 20 November 2001 10:47, you wrote: > hey group, > > Has anyone ever come across this error message when trying to boot up > into X > > init:Id "x" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 min > > I am not sure exactly what happend.it was working fine until I ran > mousedrake and tried to configure my mouse > > Any ideas? > > Andrew
