Can someone help. the new install of mandrake 8.1 broke sound. It worked in 8.0 and still works in my windows(for games) partition.
- the proper sound card is identified in Harddrake,
- I've turned off Plug 'n Play in the bios (someone said that might be a
problem)
- Here's the relevant (I think) modules loaded
emu10k1
ac97_codec
sound
soundcore
- alsa isn't running and doesn't want to start...
