Splinter ~> ping 172.24.38.37 PING 172.24.38.37 (172.24.38.37): 56 data bytes 64 bytes from 172.24.38.37: icmp_seq=0 ttl=128 time=0.7 ms 64 bytes from 172.24.38.37: icmp_seq=1 ttl=128 time=0.6 ms 64 bytes from 172.24.38.37: icmp_seq=2 ttl=128 time=0.6 ms 64 bytes from 172.24.38.37: icmp_seq=3 ttl=128 time=0.6 ms 64 bytes from 172.24.38.37: icmp_seq=4 ttl=128 time=0.6 ms 64 bytes from 172.24.38.37: icmp_seq=5 ttl=128 time=0.5 ms but keep going?? If so, then that is fine. hit CTRL-C to end it and it should give you something like --- 172.24.38.37 ping statistics --- 6 packets transmitted, 6 packets received, 0% packet loss round-trip min/avg/max = 0.5/0.6/0.7 ms default ping in linux goes on slightly less than forever unless you limit it. Default ping in windows is only to do it 4 times. Hope this helps.
