Bob, I'm a newbie so I'll leave the experts to tell you how to 'fix' your problem. I do know, however, that creating two CD drives, one a SCSI drive, is standard LM treatment. As I understand it, LM needs to define a second drive (SCSI) to provide for write access.
I've had problems with automatic ejecting... a manual 'eject cdrom' or 'umount dev/hdc' should work.
