The strange thing is once I start getting segmentation faults > like trying to open kmail from konsole I can still start kmail from > clicking on the menu. Gears, tuxracer, tuxkart, etc won't run at all then. skinky, I've got almost the same monitor and I can tell you that the version of XFree86 you're trying to use will not work with that monitor. I've got a Philips 107T and the only version of XFree that will work is 3.3.6. As I stated in an earlier post I had to use a generic Multi-sync monitor and refresh rate if 74hz - screen setting of 1024 X 768. I really doubt that as much of the trouble that you're having is the vid card, but rather a lot may be the darn monitor. I almost took mine back when i was trying to get it to work with Mandrake. I just kept trying the different monitors till I found the generic multi-sync 74hz - 1024 x 768. give it a shot... couldn't hurt. -- daRcmaTTeR Registered Linux User 182496 Mandrake 8.1 --------------------------------------------------------------------- 10:05pm up 4 days, 0 min, 1 user, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00
