I have a sneaking suspicion that my modem might be a Winmodem even though I managed to send a test email using it from a LM8 box.
I have a US Robotics ISA modem which according to the AT1 or ATI command under modem query results (the first one) is a model 5601. I have been unable to find any reference to it on the http://.....~gromitkc page. Would a few folks contact me off list and let me know if it is a Winmodem or can be made to work under Linux. TIA
