I had this problem with same sound card. I think to fix it, I unchecked "Run soundserver with realtime priority" in KDE Control Center (kcontrol) > Sound > Sound Server > General tab. I think that was it. I don't have that problem anymore. skinky -- oxymoron: Microsoft Works
