Today the problem directory is empty and the file attribs on the
directory are all un-checked. Yesterday the attributes were archive and
system. When I changed those attributes, yesterday, I was still unable
to delete the files.

I first tried it yesterday in a DOS window from windows and today from a
DOS cmd prompt ( i.e. F8 as the machine boots).

Tried and the response I got once I was fairly deep into the directory
structure was that the directory I wanted didn't exist. I tried entering
the name in CAPS and in 8.3 format but no luck with the particular
directory I wanted. I was able into get into other directories but no
the one I wanted.
