If you have an S3Trio, buying a new card is probably a good idea anyway. We have to use them at work, and I notice that when I restart the X-server, it says "ugh" on detecting the card! BTW, if I secretly replaced the S3Trio with my old Trident3D (another notoriously cranky card), would it improve things at all?
