Seems a bit small to me - 61 bytes? This is what I get when I do the same thing on my LM8.0 system: -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 96444 Apr 8 2001 /usr/bin/less* Try cat'ing the 'less' you have to see if it's been replaced by a script.
