KDE 2 installed from Mandrake 8.0, but I had the same thing with MDK 6.5
I have a cron job running every 3 days trimming it down to 100 lines, just
to keep it in check. Irritating though...

i suppose this is internal to whatever WM you are using. seems like
there still are a lot of things to do between the interfaces of the WM and
the XServer, or maybe its just a matter of cleaning up code ;-) .
