   type 'arch' in a term, it'll for sure tell ya. EG,
 ~ $ arch
i686

   I don't remember whether a K6 is i686, or 586, but either way you
most likely don't need any of the static rpms. Occaisionally you might
find one is a required dependency. D/l all the rpms to a dir by
themselves (eg, /222) and do a 'rpm -Fvh'. If a static lib is required
you'll get a notification of which one, and the upgrade will fail. D/l
the missing dep to the dir, and then try again. Repeat as neccessary ;)

   FWIW, it's a good idea to run this command after a KDE upgrade,

 rpm --rebuilddb && updatedb && ldconfig -v && update-menus -v

The double ampersands mean "do the next command if the previous one
worked out OK" ;) You might also wanna log in and out'a KDE a few times.
Should work out good to go, no problemo
