Have you tried descending into the dev directory to find out if the partition 
devices are actually there?

I.E.:

ls -ail /dev/ide/host1/bus0/target0/lun0

or:

ls -ail /dev/ide/host2/bus0/target0/lun0

After you verify that the device you are looking for is there, you then try 
mounting it.  Using the targets you found above.
