That's another tale.
The speed of nearly all computer components from processors to hds, from graphics
cards to modem have all increased Except for PCI bus speed which has remained constant
at 33mhz.
A MOBO which operates with a FSB (front side bus) of 66mhz will be set in the BIOS or
jumpered for a bus speed of 66mhz which means only that 66% of he FSB speed is sent
through to any pci device.
66mhz x 66% = 33mhz
Is this the translation you wished?
I think my translations need work
At 66mhz FSB the setting would be for 50% which
then gives you a pci bus speed of 33mhz.
Where it get complicated is when the MOBO can operate at either 66 or
100mhz that the pci bus must be jumpered for either 33% or 50% depending
upon the actual FSB used.
