I think Zone Alarm does the same thing as Norton Personal Firewall. I use Zone Alarm (the free personal edition -- not sure it's available anymore) and it seems that I can block access by specific program. When it finds a program trying to connect from my machine to the Internet, it tells me the name of the program, it asks me if I want to allow that specific program to access the Internet, and maintains a list of the programs I have enabled to do so. (I can delete programs from that list if I wish.) Not sure how incoming connections are handled because I use a NAT based gateway which only allows incoming connections associated with an outgoing request. Randy Kramer
